Welcome to tasteful wedding dresses, a website dedicated to enhancing the appreciation for the artistry and dynamism behind the wedding dress industry. Of course wedding gowns are a big part of what is undeniably one of the most luxurious of industries in this country.
However, the idea for this site is not to focus on the expense associated with this glamorous day, but rather the artistry and beauty that comes at the hands of the garment makers and wedding dress designers behind the stunning pieces of creation.
We will do our best to cover the entire spectrum of the industry. We intend to reach as far as bohemian wedding dresses to black wedding dresses. We will touch on the fancy in the not too fancy: for example the casual gowns.
Some of you may not be familiar with some of the more recent trends in the industry, and we hope to help introduce you to many of the very different sorts of styles that the industry provides.
In fact, plenty of people are unfamiliar with the word ‘bohemian,’ and how it relates to fashion. On top of that, others may feel that a black gown doesn’t exist. Well, surprise surprise, not only do they exist, but they are certainly their own little niche within the fashion industry.
Fashion is very much
about communication… the communication of self, of ideas. And there may be no bigger day in a woman’s life to express herself than on the day she is most photographed!
The choice of a gown for a woman is not always the easiest a choice to make. Part of reason for this is that the overall efforts made to find the right gown are often times made with little to no knowledge of what is actually out there. The fact is wedding wear is what we consider formal wear, and formal wear is hardly sort of wear that many of us are used to. It is generally casual wear that we are used to, yet casual wedding dresses are not exactly the most popular (although they are growing in popularity.) In fact, there are very few facets of society are formal clothing this part of the norm. The truth these days is that many of us, even for such outings this church or a Saturday evening dinner with friends, will often times out before a nice pair of jeans. Of course history would tell us that this choice of jeans or those particular occasions in other areas would be absolutely impossible. Get the fact is casual wear has become the norm, and we have learned to grow comfortable in our casual clothes.
Of course the issue with casual wear is that these casual clothes and casual shopping fail to prepare women with the proper body of knowledge in order to shop bride-to-be will run off to the local wedding gown store and allow salesperson to push her in the right direction. Although this can work out, chances are salesperson could do everything he or she can to push a bride-to-be in to a dress that is on the rack.
For this reason we have set out to explain industry and the fashion behind many of the choices a new brides can choose from.
If you are interested in putting together an outdoor wedding we will touch on the garden wedding dresses. Of course if this our economy has done anything to you what it’s done to millions of others, we will certainly cover the ever important inexpensive wedding dresses.
But wait, there’s more.
We have all seen over the last decade or so that some elements of tradition are slowly working their way out of the industry. We are seeing more and more informal wedding dresses. That said, some of the traditions is holding on, and one area that the tradition remains steadfast is in mother of the groom dresses.
Beyond that we also are very aware that the divorce rate is particularly high in this country, and the fact is second wedding dresses are a necessity for many brides. Sometimes the second nuptials call for simple wedding dresses, and sometimes these are used wedding dresses.
But the fact remains wedding dresses for older brides or second brides make up a large part of the industry, and we intend to cover this demographic as well has all demographics as we work to advance the understanding and appreciation for the artistry behind the wedding gown.
Of course we don’t intend to stop there, and we assume that our learning and appreciation for the artistry behind this process will only grow. We have noticed recently that such styles as the vintage inspired wedding dresses are making a comeback, and that these gowns are changing the way tradition is received.
